The short version
This site sets no tracking cookies. There’s nothing to consent to, so there’s no cookie banner.
That’s not a shortcut or a technicality. It’s because I don’t run analytics, I don’t run advertising, and I haven’t embedded anything that watches what you do. The only cookies here are the ones the site can’t work without.
What a cookie actually is
A small file a site leaves on your device. It can be used to remember something about you — that you’re logged in, or that you put something in a basket. Some cookies are used to follow people around the internet; those are the ones that need your permission first.
Under UK rules (PECR), the cookies that only exist to make a site work are exempt from needing consent. Everything this site sets falls into that category — which is why there’s no banner asking you to click yes.
What this site actually sets
The basket / session cookie (WooCommerce) — remembers what you’ve put in the basket while you’re looking around. Without it the basket would empty itself on every click.
The login cookie (WordPress) — only ever set if you log in, which is me, as the site’s administrator. You’ll never see this one as a visitor.
Hosting / CDN technical handling (Hostinger) — the site runs on Hostinger’s infrastructure, which handles the technical side of serving pages. Covered above as part of running the site.
That’s the complete list. Not a summary — the whole thing.
What this site does NOT set
- No analytics cookies — nothing counting your visit, no Google Analytics
- No advertising cookies — nothing tracking you for ads, on this site or after
- No social media pixels — no embedded tracking from any social platform
- No third-party tracking of any kind — nothing embedded that reports on you
I checked this in the site’s own code rather than taking it on trust, because it’s the kind of claim that’s easy to make and easy to be wrong about.
If you’d still rather not have cookies
The cookies here are the ones that make the site function, so blocking them will break things — the basket stops remembering, and the site may behave oddly. But you’re free to do it: every browser has settings for blocking or clearing cookies, usually under Privacy or Security.
Deleting cookies you already have is safe; the worst that happens is a basket empties itself.
Anything else
This page only covers cookies. For the wider picture — what I collect, why, and what your rights are — see the Privacy Policy. Questions about either: shanefullwood@gmail.com.
