I’m Shane. I drive a lorry for a living — five days a week, all day, delivering timber to merchants’ yards, sawmills and joiners’ workshops.
The honest version
Why I started
Hawksbury Timber exists because of what I see from the cab. Every day, good timber arrives at yards across the country — and every day, most of it disappears into big trade orders. The boards a maker actually wants — sensible sizes, honest grading, small quantities — either get swallowed by a wholesale order or sit behind a counter with no time to care.
I’m a maker myself. I want the same thing you want: decent timber, a fair price, and someone who’ll tell you the truth about what you’re buying. So that’s what Hawksbury is — me, sourcing timber I’d be happy to use, for people who want to build things.

Straight answers
I tell you what the timber will and won’t do. If it’s the wrong board for your job, I’ll say so.
What I’m not
I’m not a merchant with a warehouse — I don’t pretend to hold stock I don’t have. I’m not a call centre, and there’s no sales team. It’s me, myself and I. You tell me what you’re building, I find the timber, and I come back to you.
